Handle made from curly birch, with horn spacer and copper cap. Sticktang blade made by Mora of Sweden, triple laminate carbon steel, scandi grind- a single bevel to the blade, takes an edge you can shave with easily.
I cut the outline of the handle with a hacksaw, then shaped it with a chisel and smoothed it with sandpaper. Finished with Danish oil, which is tough, and much nicer than any varnish. The hardest part was drilling it for the tang- its difficult to get such a long drill bit, and then lots of work with a needle file to get a snug fit.
The sheath was cut roughly to size, wetted, and then sewn on the knife. As it dried, I had time to shape it and tool a few decorative lines. When dry, I removed the knife, and coloured it with woodstain, then sealed and toughened it with Nikwax.
Now its been 200 miles with me, and I'm quite pleased with it. It fits my hand perfectly, and has become my general purpose knife at home and camping, for carving, hunting, sharpening pencils and a plethora of other jobs easily done with the help of a really sharp blade. The belt loop on the sheath has a button so I can easily take it off my belt if going into non knife-friendly places (most of the UK, now that Man's primary tool is oh so non-PC).

Thanks!

Curly birch does look good, especially after adding lots of Danish oil, which makes it reflect the light in patches. Feels nice in the hand, too.

The cap is shaped from sheet copper, which fitted onto the end of the handle after a bit of work with a chisel, and is glued with JB weld.
